Thursday

Our day...

Mommy gave us chocolate donut holes with breakfast. She must be insane.

We loved them and now we expect to get them with breakfast everyday.

Do I have something in my teeth?

Then we went to playgroup and had a great time with our friends.  The funniest thing we did was rock in the rocking chair.  We even took turns pushing each other off.  We didn't even cry. Crazy.
On the car ride home, mommy gave us each a snowball to play with (and because she doesn't want us to sleep in the car anymore? Wtf is that about) It was so fun. We licked and ate them up.

Then Nana stopped by to drop something off and she pulled us around in a box. How crazy is that??!

And now we are napping.... But not for long because mommy gave us chocolate this morning so we are pretty much wired. We can't wait to wake up and start running in circles around mommy - she wore a nice sweater today so we already got it covered in syrup this morning and this afternoon we have plans to make her set up paints for us so I am sure we will make an even bigger mess on her.
Happy Thursday friends!

Oh and a little tbt to when we were only 4 months old because mommy says we are oh so cute!

17 months!!

Peyton and Sawyer,

It has been months, since I have done a true monthly update...This past year, while most of it is a blur, it was quite amazing and I highly doubt that it will ever be topped. Now at 17 months you two are crazy, silly, loving, fun, and the most creative little love bugs I have ever met. You keep me running everyday...You keep me guessing everyday..I go to bed every night thinking of how lucky I am that I have you...and I also go to bed with dried drool on my cheeks and arms from your nonstop kisses that you give all day. I could not be luckier.

Peyton,

My little pie...You are such a spit-fire. You are super silly and super mischievous. You LOVE exploring and getting into trouble...whether it's climbing on the radiators or attempting to scale the baby gates - you are always smiling. You talk nonstop...fav words are "arf" "mommy" "ma" "ball" and you communicate even more through signing - more, water, please, grapes, milk...You still love your bink esp the bink that has a little puppy on it.

You sleep pretty well...usually have me up once or twice a night but MOST nights its a quick awake session then back to sleep. You have pulled a few all nighters when you are teething where we are up all night. Last week, I laid down to go to sleep at 1030 and by 1130 you were up yelling and I did not go back to sleep at all that night....it was tough but so worth it to have your warm little bod on me.
You are so smart...you know everything that I say to you, whether or not you choose to listen varies with each situation but you sure are bright.
You already are a little Mommy...you love pushing your baby in her stroller and giving her a bott. Just today I realized that you usually pick up the stroller and carry it and I realized that you do that after you see me carrying your stroller out the front door every morning...observant little nug that you are!
YOu would stay attached to me all day, everyday if you could and oh how I wish I could let you...you koala onto my bod and I never want you to let go!
You LOVE playing with ears...you rub anyones ears when you are tired. It is super sweet.

Right now you love watching Curious George and still love Baby Einstein. Your favorite song is the itsy bitsy spider - you do all the hand movements and esp love when I tickle you at the end of the song.
You have brought more light and love to my life than I ever imagined. I cannot wait to watch you continue to grow and thrive.

Sawyer,

My little love...You are an amazing little person, my Soybean. You are so creative and smart. You love books and blocks. You can build up to 8 blocks high with our soft blocks. Now that we have the big cardboard blocks, I cannot wait to see how high you can build.
You love music and esp love to spin around. A few times you have made yourself dizzy and then fallen over but you laugh it off and do it again. You are a homebody who LOVES just playing with her toys. Some days, you don't even want people over visiting and you let us know by yelling until they leave. and no sooner is that door closed, then you turn back into your sweet, loving little self. You are doing great sleeping at night - 730pm-6amish - some days 430 - some days 7 but I am not complaining as overall you're doing awesome. You also love Curious George (full disclosure - I just put on an episode for you 2 from NetFlix so that I can finish this post) and Baby Einstein. Your fav song is the Itsy Bitsy spider and the ABC's. You are a determined little lovie who knows what she wants when she wants it. You despise not getting your way - I can relate - I hate it too.

You are tough at times - but such a lovie at the same time. You reach those still chubby little hands up to me countless times a day just to get a quick snuggle in. Those snuggles complete my life!! Anytime before I am putting you into a seat (car seat, booster seat) you snuggle in for a quick 10 second cuddle before being put down. It is amazing. I hope you continue to do this forever.
When you were super little, you did not love being worn..now, somedays you will bring me the ergo and I will wear you around for an hour or so and you love it - but I love it more :)
You have brought more happiness and love into my life than I ever thought possible. I am so lucky to be your Mommy (oh and ps - you call my name in the cutest way ever "mummmeeee...mummmmeeee" You also love saying "arf" "baby" "ball" and while you don't love signing - you do it to get what you want - smart girl ;)

You both are the loves of my life..and I love you so much.

Trips

This morning I am dining with triplets. (Peyton insisted this little lady join us) How lucky am I?!

Now, if I seriously ever had triplets I would need: a psychiatrist, a therapist (yes both so I could lie and get double the meds) a cleaning lady, a chauffeur, and a boob job (just because after nursing twins my boobs are even more nonexistent than they were pre-pregnancy - I can't even imagine the lack of bubbies after triplets)

Peyton is now yelling at me because I am not feeding her babe the oatmeal that I am feeding to her and Sawyer so I must run. At least the cabbage patch kid won't hit and kick me when I wipe her face.

2015

It's 2015 and I WILL be blogging at least twice a week this year - yay!

I enjoy blogging so much. At least 3 times everyday I think about blogging - then life happens, and anything outside of taking care of my amazing babes is forgotten. But, this year - as my babes are becoming more self sufficient everyday (insert happy face and also a sad face as my little lovies are growing up) I will blog weekly.

Currently, we are discussing today's cold temps and snowfall and enjoying some breakfast ... And by breakfast I mean eggs, ham, and a blueberry waffle for the nuggets and a diet coke on the rocks for Mommy .... If only I had some rum.

Swoon

Girls...

I seriously want to bottle up each second with you. You have morphed into these two amazing creatures who amaze me over and over everyday.

Every little thing that you do makes me swoon.

Peyton - you hear Tyson barking and immediately erupt into this little 'arf arf arf' that melts my heart.
You love hiding things and pretending they are lost and then you are so proud of yourself when you find it. You have been hating wearing socks and will twist your body all around to pull them off.

Sawyer - you look at me from across the room and smile so hard that it looks like your face may break.
You also LOVE cleaning. You will purposefully spill your bottle just so that I will give you a wipe to clean it up.

You both are so smart and creative. You have spent hours pushing your shopping carts around the house and loading them up with everything within reach. You are so mischievous and LOVE finding new ways to cause trouble...recently, you have taken to climbing into the tub on your own and playing in there. It is amazing to hear little baby giggles coming from behind the curtain.

I would love to keep going on and on but both of you just woke up from your nap within seconds of each other so I'm off to get some snuggles from my 2 fav girls ;)

Zoo

The title of this blog could be used to describe just about every second of my life right now..however, today we actually went to the real zoo with animals and soft pretzels and had a fab time!

My young nuggets, I must remind you as you probably forget - this is your 2nd trip to the zoo...we took you back in May when you were a mere 9 months old and it was the trip from HELL. You both screamed...yelled...and were absolutely miserable. I blame it on a combo of teething and just overall 9-month-old-split-personalities BUT mama and I put on our big girls panties and decided to once again take on West Philadelphia and hope that your screams would be drowned out by the gun shots and gang fights on the adjacent blocks (just kidding)

So off we went! and it was a great day. and of course for two 14 month olds, your attention span is about 14.3 seconds so saying we spent a day at the zoo pretty much means we spent 2.5 hours at the zoo. and those 2.5 hours were amazing. You ran around and had snacks in the stroller followed up by a delic 4 course lunch at the picnic tables that Mama bought you as she is well aware that what you liked yesterday - you will hate today so she played it smart and just got 1 of every damn thing on the menu ($56 lunch for a successful zoo trip? well worth it)

Only a few traumatic experinces - Peyton, you got head butted by a goat which scared you for a few seconds. and while eating lunch, some geese were literally inches away from us eyeing up your french fries...Mama chased them away for us. Sawyer you were pissed that she would chase them away -I am pretty sure you wanted to bring one home with you. One goose did manage to pull a platter off of the table and mustard went EVERYWHERE. Once again Mama cleaned it up as we laughed and laughed and then ran as the geese were closing on on us.

I do have to say that this age is my favorite by far. You love to explore and learn new things everyday. It is amazing to watch you learn and grow. However, when I see someone with a newborn baby all snuggly in a moby wrap, I do miss your newborn days...I think I'll always miss those days even though they were the hardest days (months) of my life.

We were washing our hands at the zoo after leaving the petting zoo and a mom came up next to me who had 2 year old twins ... we chatted briefly about the happenings of twins and she said to me, "It is the most difficult job ever and only we can understand how hard and amazing it is." I wanted to hug her. Couldn't have said it better myself...We exchanged a compassionate, respectful look and then her daughter slapper her ass with her wet hand and Peyton - you attempted a full body double-toe-loop jump out of my arms because you saw your water bott sitting in the stroller. So quickly this lady and I were pulled back into our reality with twins and we gave a wave and went on our way.

We have had some amazing days the past few weeks...a few of your friend's moms and I have created an awesome playgroup in our town and you are making friends left and right....We have an awesome new play space that I am sure you will love. Sawyer, you pretty much love everyone. You love watching what the other kids are doing and then slowly making your way in. Unless it is a toy you really want, then you storm in and take it for your own. Peyton, you also love everyone. You tend to be a bit more grabby with toys and if someone has something that you want - and at times, its not even something you want, it is just something you do not want them to have - you will not hesitate to go take it for your own.

Just like I say to you every night my babes - You are my life and my love. and I still fall more in love with you everyday.
